New Season, New Look

When Cyclone senior forward Hallie Christofferson took over the women’s basketball Twitter account on Thursday she let the cat out of the bag about our new uniforms with this tweet.

As you can see they are quite a bit different than year’s past. The most significant difference is the gray uniforms. The Cyclones have stepped out onto the court in popular gold and pink uniforms before, but donned gray uniforms.

Some of the updates to the new uniforms are the weight and design. The shorts are 68 percent lighter and should dry up to 30 percent faster, according to assistant director of equipment operations Ryan Zluticky. The shorts also feature a fuller hemline to provide better mobility.

As far as the design goes, the back of the jersey features a two-toned “Cyclone” pattern that is unique to Iowa State.

“We are really excited about the new style of uniform that Nike has provided us this season,” head coach Bill Fennelly said. “The excitement shown by our players and our recruits has been fantastic.”

The Cyclones will display their freshly designed uniforms on Nov. 3 as they take on Wayne State in an exhibition game at Hilton Coliseum. The Cyclones will open the regular season on Nov. 10 against North Dakota at home. We hope to see you there!
